In case you didn’t know, I am basically an Ellen guru now. I kid, I kid, but you guys. I cannot tell you how much traffic my blog receives just from my Ellen posts. And then let’s not forget the Instagram DMs, (which I totally love) from excited would-be audience goers. I had no idea so many people would find me this way, because I am more of a Motherhood/Lifestyle blogger, but hey! Life is funny like that.

I started my Ellen series because I could barely find anything on the googles, before I attended my first taping. This is the mothership of all of my ‘Ellen’ posts, though. This experience was major bucket-list #goals, and I am here to tell you all about it. I will do my best to fill you in on everything you ever wanted to know about Ellen’s 12 Days of Giveaways, and what it is like to get to be a part of it! (Hint: it’s totally AWESOME). Try not to hate on me because girrrrl, I so understand that Ellen-envy. Instead recognize that this is totally possible for YOU too.
We arrived to Warner Brothers Studios early, (around 10am)–in fact the first audience was lining up for the earlier taping. We were instructed to come back at 1pm by the parking attendant who wasn’t very Ellen-like, (cue eye roll). We found a cool place to eat lunch, and decided we would be smart and head back at 12:30, just to be a little early. Well guess what. The parking guy was w-r-o-n-g, wrong. Our audience was allllll lined up by the time we got back, and we were practically last in line. I didn’t even care because this was a minor hiccup in comparison to the fact that we had Guaranteed tickets to the show. The one big difference this time around is that there was no audience scout. So no one was being picked to play a game, which again, was just fine. My eyes were on the prize(s), and as we filed across the street to the studio, I thought I might implode from excitement.
If you’ve been following my Ellen Show series, then you’ll recall our first visit was on a Thursday, which we learned means there are two tapings that day. Knowing this ahead of time, I knew that on Thursday, November 29 we would be attending the second taping of the day. I was pretty positive that our guests were John Cena and Martha Stewart (the QUEEN herself), and I was correct.
It was time to go to our seats, and we herded through the Riff Raff room like very eager cattle. Ironically our group got split up (like the last time). This wasn’t ideal, but again, it didn’t matter because hellllooooo, Ellen’s 12 Days! Like the last 2 times, we had a pre-Ellen dance party. Twitch began to dance up our isle when suddenly we locked eyes and he pointed right at me. My heart fell in to my crotch as I met him in the isle. We danced together in synch and I was feeling pretty good about myself. Then he backed away to give me space to ‘freestyle’, annnnnnnd you guys; I froze. And then I did what I do when I am severely uncomfortable; I made things really awkward. I am not really sure what sort of ‘dancing’ I did other than attempting to ‘back it up’ in to him, but let’s just say it wasn’t my finest moment of showcasing my sweet moves. Thankfully this was before the taping began, but I also know this footage could very well resurface during another shows airing. (Please tell me if you ever see it; or maybe don’t).
The music started, and we all jumped to our feet screaming and cheering as Ellen appeared. I think beams of light were shooting from her eyes, and actual sparkles were circling her entire self, but I could be mistaken. Our first guest was John Cena. He is really funny and engaging and people loved him. If I’m being honest, I didn’t know much about him before the show, but he was great. Martha Stewart was next, and she was hilarious. I love Martha Stewart. I thought she would be the one doing our 12 days, but nope She and Ellen crafted and boozed a bit. Julia Garner from Ozark was next, and she was also great, but still no 12 days. John Cena joined Ellen again, and it was Finally time!
I know, I know, get to the loot already. Before I list the prizes we won, I just need to say this. I still can’t entirely wrap my head around Ellen’s generosity. I feel beyond lucky and grateful to have been a part of this experience. Ellen relieved any holiday-time shopping stress for our family, as our prizes basically paid for everything (and more). I truly hope every single one of you gets the opportunity to attend any taping of The Ellen Show, but especially a 12 Days taping.
