Ellen’s Mother’s Day episode recently aired, and it got me thinking; every mother needs and deserves to attend a taping of The Ellen Show.

I have been in the audience for The Ellen Show 3 times, and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. You are allowed to attend as an audience member one time each season, and being that it is one of my favorite life experiences to date, I will continue to do my best to get tickets to the her show. I freakin’ Love Ellen (in a totally non-creepy way), and if you are a mom, here’s why I believe you must go to her show:
- Let’s just start with the basics; it’s a day-cation (I just made that up), and every mom deserves a break from catering to her children. There are no screaming children at The Ellen Show. There are no frustrated parents. There are no poopy diapers. There are no tantrums (unless you count me freaking the heck out when Ellen takes the stage). There are no fights over buckling car seats. There are no hands or mouths or teeth grabbing at your hair or clothes or boobs. There is just pure, magical freedom.
- Mama needs to dance! If there is one thing that you will do with reckless abandon at The Ellen Show; it is dance your boo-tay off. It’s ingrained in the very culture of the show, and if you’re lucky, you may just get to shake your tail feather with Twitch. (I had this pleasure, which was awesome. Until I completely embarrassed myself. Facepalm.)
- They say that laughter is the best medicine, so basically you need to go to The Ellen Show for your health. From the energy of the other audience members; to the audience warm-up guy; to Ellen herself, prepare for all the belly laughs and good times.
- Free things aren’t guarantee when you go to The Ellen Show, however, I have attended the show 3 times, and have never left empty-handed, (including winning a trip back for th 12 Days Show!) And don’t even get me started on the epic-ness of attending Ellen’s 12 Days of Giveaways.
- Or maybe do get me started, because you never know if your audience might win a trip back for one of her 12 Days! She really likes to pull major surprises on her audiences, and boy were we surprised. We were there on stand-by tickets, and were the last people let into the studio. You truly never know what can happen at Ellen.
- There is a magical high-vibiness at The Ellen Show. I just feel like every person (especially moms), deserves to experience this. Being at The Ellen Show is like being transported to a fantasyland where your problems cease to exist, and your only job is to have fun. Moms deserve this. Moms need this.
- Crazy things can happen at The Ellen Show. Twice I was selected to possibly play one of Ellen’s on-air games, (sadly we had no games on either of those days). And another time I was asked to audition for Ellen’s Game of Games. I made it through several rounds of Skype auditions, and was cut at the very last round. Even though I didn’t wind up playing the games, the process was so much fun, and I got a little behind the scenes view of how it works.
My best advice for getting tickets to The Ellen Show is this; keep trying. The selection process is random, as far as I know, and your number is bound to come up! If you are going to The Ellen Show (or not) and have any questions, feel free to dm me on instagram. Make sure you sign up for my email list as well, as I often send out free goodies.
